World Cup #5 Mont St. AnneGepubliceerd op: 3 juli 2013
Ruben Scheire Riding U23 Men category went to Canada to maintain his overall World Cup Ranking. He did this with remarkable effort. It looks like Ruben is on a way back to top-class level, like he showed last year.
Improvement in his start and riding a more solid final are a few facts that prove this improvement.
In Mont Saint Anne the Men U23 started on Saturday Evening, European Time. Ruben stood on the 24th starting position, so he had to push himself not to drop any places but to move up rapidly.
This went accordingly as he managed to get to the 12 position.
Just in front of him the later on winner Adam Cooper from New Zealand attacked and got some advantage on his fellow riders.
Ruben however stood ground and in the final lap he forced himself to a higher effort and gaining 4 places.
He rolled over the finish 8th. After the finish Ruben said: “I’m very happy with this result and my 8th position here. I am glad we made this trip and it was a blast riding here on one of my favourite mountain bike tracks.
I rode the Felt Edict Nine, after all the track modifications this was a good choice. The fully bike handled the Rocky sections perfectly as well as the tricky downhill’s.”
